FINALIST/RUNNER-UP AWARDS

• Up to another $10,000 in grants shared amongst the runners-up/finalists

Additional opportunities and experiences may be announced.

All participants will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel of Broadway and industry professionals, including performers, agents, casting directors, musical directors, and vocal coaches. Every applicant will receive professional feedback, industry visibility, and access to discounted dance classes at Steps on Broadway.

ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must be 18–25 years old as of January 1, 2026.
• Applicants must demonstrate training or experience in dance, voice, and acting.
• Applicants must be available to travel to New York City, May 16–18, 2026, if selected.
• International applicants may apply if proper paperwork is provided.
• No union status or professional credits are required.

ADJUDICATION PROCESS
BROADWAY’S NEXT TRIPLE THREAT will be adjudicated in THREE Rounds.

• Round One – All applicants
• Round Two – Semi-Finalists
• Round Three – Finalists

Finalists will be invited to New York City for an immersive weekend of mentorship and training, culminating in a live performance at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards on May 18 at the NYU Skirball Center. (Travel and accommodations are not provided. However, all finalists are guaranteed a minimum $1,000 training grant.)

All Awards will be presented live at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards. Finalists will also be recognized through post-event media and celebrated as emerging artists to watch within the Chita Rivera Awards community.

SUBMISSION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS
The application process begins with an online video submission showcasing the applicant’s dance training, vocal ability, acting,
and storytelling skills.

Professional-quality footage is not required — clear, well-lit cell phone video is acceptable.

Submission Fee: $150 per applicant
(Supports professional adjudication, feedback, and program operations)

Video Submission Requirements

• Short video introduction including name, age, hometown/state, and a one-sentence statement
  on why this opportunity is meaningful to you
• 16 bars of a vocal uptempo
• 16 bars of a vocal ballad
• Dance solo

Each video component must be under one minute. Additional materials may be requested for Round Two.

By applying, participants grant permission for submitted materials to be used for program-related publicity and advertisement purposes.

Timeline
March 13, 2026 – Round One Submission Deadline
March 27, 2026  – Semi-Finalists Announced
April 10, 2026 – Finalists Announced
May 16-18, 2026 – Final Adjudication/Mentoring in NYC

Round 1 – All applicants
Video submissions are reviewed by Broadway and industry professionals. All applicants receive written professional feedback.
Selected artists advance to Round Two.

Round 2 – Semi-Finalists
Semi-Finalists are celebrated online and re-evaluated for performance versatility, storytelling, and stage presence.
A new panel of adjudicators will provide written and/or audio feedback. Additional video submissions may be requested.

Round 3 – Finalists
The top finalists are invited to New York City for an exclusive in-studio mentorship and training weekend, culminating
in a live performance at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards on May 18 at the NYU Skirball Center.

(Travel and accommodations are not provided. However, all finalists are guaranteed a minimum $1,000 training grant.)

Finalists should expect to learn new song-and-dance material.

Selected finalists will also be featured in post-event media and highlighted in the Chita Rivera Awards network as emerging
talent to watch.
